During a time when Christianity was outlawed, many were afraid to show their faith. Persecution was one of the many punishments for showing their faith, but some still prayed behind the backs of the Roman officials. Saint Sebastian was one of those daring enough to continue. He gave his life for his faith and in fact died twice according to records.

The reason that I chose Saint Sebastian is because of all he did to achieve his role as a saint. He is the patron saint of Athletes because of the strength and endurance he showed. He is someone to look to for strength or courage. That is why I chose Saint Sebastian to follow under and influence me during my journey throughout Confirmation.
