District-Wide Projects
Reel Voices: LISD Film Festival: After conceiving the idea of a district-wide film festival, I chaired the committee that partnered Strategic Design Coaches with Career Center staff and students to leverage a variety of technology tools in order to organize and facilitate this initiative that touched over 1000 students.
1:X initiative at LHS (with CZ Secondary Team): The team has supported the 1:X initiative in several ways, from faculty meeting mini-presentations, PLC sharing, iPad student deployment, and morning workshops. Teachers need help becoming familiar with Apple products as well as how they can use apps in their learning experiences.
AP Leadership Walk-Throughs (with Donna Henry, Eric Simpson, Mary Lou Seewoester): The team has worked together to design engaging experiences for AP’s and teacher leaders on leveled questions, differentiation, engagement, and design qualities.
21st Century Learning Cadre(with all Learning Technology Coaches, Beth Brockman, Lori Rapp, Jerram Froese): The team has worked to accomplish teacher capacity and campus collaboration by creating a cadre of teachers who will explore technology tools, become experts on those tools, and provide their fellow teachers opportunities to engage in learning about instructional practices involving student-centered, safe, and flexible learning environments.
Google Drive Technology Workshop (with Brandi Rosales): We taught a hands-on workshop designed to allow teachers explore time in the various elements of Google Drive, Google Searches, Google Collaborator, and Google URL Shortener.
Zone-Based Projects
CZ Secondary Website (with all CZ secondary coaches) This site was designed to spotlight campuses and the way they are implementing Strategic Design. I have added most of the image content in the form of Picasa Photo Slideshows.
Week in Review designed to keep Central Zone stakeholders updated on the projects that are going on in the zone.
February 18th Inservice (with all CZ secondary coaches)
Campus-Based Projects
Design Qualities at LHS (with Amy Fox, Aaron Harrell, and Tammy Whitaker): A 2-hour learning experience that introduced teachers to the Design Qualities.
Google Sites at Durham (with Amy Fox, Aaron Harrell, Deanna McKinley, and Tammy Whitaker): The team facilitated this transformational initiative, offering guidance to a committee of teachers who planned and implemented Google Sites portfolios for staff, 6th grade students, and 7th grade students. By the end of the year, each teacher will have a Google Site and all 6th and 7th graders will have artifacts uploaded in all content areas.
Student ePortfolios: Student 1, Student 2, Student 3
Google Drive at Huffines (with Aaron Harrell and Tammy Whitaker): We introduced Google Drive to the staff and discussed ways teachers could integrated it into the learning experience.
iPads at Huffines (with Aaron Harrell and Tammy Whitaker): We explored navigating the iPad and several apps that teachers could use for student creation, with an emphasis on downloading products from the iPad for a larger audience.
AP Teacher Workshop at Killough (with Deanna McKinley and Natalie Spangler): We designed a six-hour workshop where content was organized in Edmodo and teachers were given choices about the content they explored, how they explored it, and the products they created.
Think Tech at Killough (with Deanna McKinley and Natalie Spangler): This learning experience expanded on the AP Teacher workshop to a larger audience and in a deeper way.
Google Apps at Hedrick (with Central Zone Secondary Coaches): We plan to replicate our experiences with teachers at Durham and Huffines. Hedrick wishes to begin an ePortfolio initiative as well.
