To access your Explore Dashboard please follow the steps below:
Login to your library's Dashboard at https://[subdomain].stackmap.com with the credentials provided by StackMap. Enter your specific institution's subdomain in place of [subdomain]. If you have any trouble with this please email us at support@stackmap.com.
Navigate to the top right-hand corner of the page to "Apps" and click on the drop-down arrow to view more options.
Click on the "Explore" link (see the red highlighting in the graphic below) to access your Explore Dashboard.
"Explore Home" (see the navigation bar in the image below) will bring you to the homepage of your Explore Dashboard.
"Subject Labels" (see the tile in the image below) and "Subject Labeling" (see the navigation bar in the image below) will both bring you to the same page where you can modify the list of subjects and their associated ranges.
"Edit Places" (see the tile in the image below) and "Edit Places" (see the navigation bar in the image below) will both bring you to the same page where you can modify the areas mapped out within your library.
"Test Explore" (see the tile in the image below) and "Explore" (see the navigation bar in the image below) will both link you directly to the same public-facing Explore interface. Once this interface has been accessed, you can share the URL with anyone as it is publicly viewable and does not require login credentials.
"Search Call Number" (see the navigation bar in the image below) will link you to a public-facing interface where you can search for call numbers. This is a tool that can be utilized for very specific circumstances, so if you are interested in using it we recommend reaching out to support@stackmap.com.
Updating Subject List
Click on the "+ Update Subject List" button in the top right corner of the Subject Labeling homepage to edit the list of subjects that can be associated to ranges. A modal will appear and a list of existing subjects can be viewed.
Use the blue plus sign (near the top left of the modal) to add a new subject label text field.
Type a new subject label in the empty field that appears. The subjects themselves can be anything your library chooses, but a specific subject only needs to be added once to the subject list.
Delete a single subject by clicking on the red x-sign to the right side of the subject field. You can also delete a subject simply by clearing the text from the subject field and clicking the "Save" button.
Click the "Save" button to ensure that new subjects or edits that have been made will not be lost.

"Subjects" Tab
Select the library and floor you want to view using the "Library-Floor Selector" and then click "Get Floor".
The "Subjects" and "Map" tabs will be visible once you click "Get Floor", but the "Subjects" tab will be the default tab that loads.
Click on a single subject under "Subjects" to view the existing ranges that are associated with that subject and other ranges that can be associated with it.
To associate a single subject with a single range click on the green plus sign under "Ranges Available to Add".
To remove the association between a single subject and a single range click on the the red x-sign under "Current Ranges".
To see the location of a single range click on the black pin button in the "Map" column and a modal will display a map with a pin indicating the range position.
To see the call numbers associated with a single range click on the blue "..." button under "Call number preview" and a modal will display all the sets of starting and ending call numbers on this range. Ranges without a blue "..." button have all of their call numbers displayed in gray under "Call number preview".
Click the "Save" button to ensure that changes or edits that have been made will not be lost.

"Map" Tab
If you prefer associating subjects to ranges in a map-based format instead of using a list of subjects (like under the "Subjects" tab) then click on the "Map" tab after you have clicked on "Get Floor".
To view how many ranges on the selected floor have subjects associated with them already see the progress bar below "Ranges on this floor with at least one Subject:".
To view current subject/range association on the floor click on any selected range which will then be highlighted in red.
To view all subjects associated with a selected range see "Current Subjects".
To view all subjects that are still available to associate with a selected range see "Subjects Available to Add".
To associate a subject with a selected range click on the green plus sign under "Subjects Available to Add".
To remove the association between a subject and a selected range click on the the red x-sign under "Current Subjects".
Click the "Save" button to ensure that changes or edits that have been made will not be lost.
Updating Place Types
Click on the "+ Update Place Types" button in the top right corner of the Edit Places homepage to edit the list of places that can be associated with areas on a floor. A modal will appear and a list of existing places can be viewed.
Use the blue plus sign (near the top left of the modal) to add a new place label text field.
Type a new place label in the empty field that appears. The place labels themselves can be anything your library chooses, but a specific place label only needs to be added once to the place list.
Delete a single place by clicking on the red x-sign to the right side of the place label field. You can also delete a place simply by clearing the text from the place label field and clicking the "Save" button.
Click the "Save" button to ensure that new places or edits that have been made will not be lost.

Adding New Places
Select the library and floor you want to view and then click "Load this floor". The floor plan image for the selected floor will then load.
To add a new place that can be associated with existing place types click on the "+ Add New Place" button (highlighted in red).
The translucent, green square (outlined in red on the floor plan image) that appears in the top left corner of the floor plan image is a new place. The default shape that appears is a square, but can be resized to any rectangle.
To customize the dimensions of the place drag the sides of the square, pull the corners, or manually modify them under "Properties" (Height and Width).
To modify the location of the place click and drag it to the desired location or manually modify the X-Position and Y-Position under "Properties".
To modify the angle of the new place click on it and see "Angle" under "Properties" where you can change the degree that the new place is rotated (Angle).
To delete a place click on it and use the "Delete Selection" button under "More" (highlighted in red).
To copy a place click on it and enter the number of copies to be created and click on the "Copy Selection" button under "More". All copies will be stacked on top of the originally selected place.
Click the "Save" button to ensure that new places and edits that have been made will not be lost.

Editing a Place's Type/Name/Description
To assign a place type and other labeling to a place click to select it. Then click on the "Edit Content" button (or double-click on the place you want to edit).
The "Place Content" modal will display and you can modify the information that patrons will see for the selected place.
To assign a place type to the selected place click on the drop-down under "Type:" to view all of the existing place types and select one. Place types can be used for multiple places. A selection is mandatory for this place to be included in Explore's search and browse results.
To name the selected place, type into the text field under "Name:". The place name can be anything your library chooses and will be viewable to the public when this specific place is selected. This field is optional but recommended.
To assign a description to the selected place, type into the text field under "Description:". The description field is optional and viewable to the public when this specific place is selected.
Click the "Save" button to ensure that edits will not be lost.
Test Explore/Explore Homepage
The Test Explore drop-down option and Explore tile both link you to the live public interface that patrons will use.
Patrons can click on the "Subjects" tab to view subjects across all floors. They can also click on a floor to the right and subjects will be filtered based on the selected floor.
Patrons can click on the "Places" tab to view places on all floors. They can also click on a floor and places will be filtered based on the selected floor.
The "Search" feature allows users to search for specific subjects or places. The results will display with a number and the subject or place will be highlighted on the corresponding floor.

Viewing Individual Subjects
Patrons can select either a subject or a floor to view subjects and their corresponding ranges. When a subject is selected all ranges containing items of that subject will be highlighted in red on the floor.
For more information about specific ranges patrons can click on a range and a tooltip will display. The tooltip will show the range name, starting call number(s), and ending call number(s).
The share arrow at the top right of the page will provide patrons with a specific URL that can be saved or shared to immediately return to this subject selection.

Viewing Individual Places
When a place is selected on a single floor all areas with the corresponding Place Type will be highlighted.
When patrons click on a highlighted area a tooltip will display showing the place name and description.
The share arrow at the top right of the page will provide patrons with a specific URL that can be saved or shared to immediately return to this place selection.
