Under the Floors Tab you modify elements that affect your floors.
Floor Name: Changes the individual floor name that you will assign.
Library: Here you can assign floors to specific libraries in the Dashboard.
Map Image: Here you can modify the existing floor plan and upload a new one.
Explore Map: This is for clients who also have the Explore module. Here you can modify the existing floor plan and upload a new one for your Explore floors.
Add Directions to Library Floor: Here you can add the directions that will pop-up for users when they use the StackMap functionality in your catalog for Collection Mapping.
Display Order: This is where you can modify the order in which the floors appear on the page.
On the Ranges tab you will be able to create and modify individual ranges. Ranges and their assigned values can be modified on the map image itself or using the options below:
Range(s): You decide how many ranges you want to create. This number will by default be 1, but you can change it.
Group Number: Assigned to range groups. It has nothing to do with your data/call number information, but it will help you organize your data when you do add call numbers to ranges. Make sure to give each range group a unique Group Number.
Group Height: Adjusts the height of the range group as a whole.
Group Width: Adjusts the width of the range group as a whole.
X-Position: Adjusts the x-coordinate of your range group.
Y-Position: Adjusts the y-coordinate of your range group.
Rotation Angle: Adjusts the angle that the range group is set at. (This can also be modified by clicking on the red dot above a range group)
Range Width: Adjusts the width of the range itself instead of the range group as a whole.
Double-Sided Group: The default when a range group is created.
Switch Side for Starting Call #: This will move the GREEN (or first) range of a group to the opposite side.
Add Range to Group: Adds one (single-sided) range to the range group being edited.
Delete Range from Group: Deletes one (the range that is being selected at the time) range from the range group being edited.
Delete Group: This will delete a range group and all ranges in it entirely.
Copy Group: Allows you to input how many copies of a range group you would like to make. (Maximum is 10 at a time)
The Editor allows you to modify your data and ranges individually. On this page you are able to edit the Range Name, Starting Call Number, Ending Call Number, and Location associated with that range. When you're done, click Save and your range is updated!
Range Name: Modify, update and change the range name. This can also be modified in the batch editor.
Start Call Number: The starting call number in a range. This can also be modified in the batch editor.
End Call Number: The ending call number in a range. This can also be modified in the batch editor.
Location: The assigned location point for the range. This is based on your front-facing catalog data. This can also be modified in the batch editor.
The Range Color Key serves to help indicate whether the data on ranges is accurate and makes sense.
All changes made on this page must be saved and all changes are immediate!
In the Batch Editor you can view all of the data of one floor on a singular spreadsheet.
Download the spreadsheet to view the existing ranges and data associated with the range groups
Here is an example of the spreadsheet you will download on the Batch Editor page:
Range Group: This is a value that can only be modified on the Ranges tab. Do not change it on the spreadsheet as that can affect the data.
Index Range Group: These are values that StackMap uses to accurately map out your data. Do not change it on the spreadsheet as that can affect the data.
Range #: These are values that StackMap uses to accurately map out your data. Do not change it on the spreadsheet as that can affect the data.
Range Name: The name or number that the library has assigned to a range. This can be modified and updated at any time.
Start Call Number 1: The first starting call number on a range.
End Call Number 1: The first ending call number on a range.
Location 1: The location associated with the starting and ending call numbers of a specific range.
Ranges can have multiple starting and ending call numbers in addition to locations.
Once you are done uploading your data, save your file as a CSV (comma separated values) spreadsheet ONLY. When saving look for the encoding UNICODE-8 and AVOID ASCII encoding.
The most common use for this tool is to test data to see if the Dashboard data matches the catalog. If test searches are yielding successes but buttons are not showing up in your catalog please contact support immediately.
Call Number: Here you can input any call number that you have assigned to a range as a test point.
Location: Here the location assigned to the call number should be input as the test point.
Library: Select the library that corresponds to the data based on the floor the range is on.
Run Test: Once all three fields have data, run the test to see if it maps successfully. If there is an error that pops up this means there is something wrong in one of the three data points input.
ShareTest: This feature allows you to view an example of a pop-up that the user will see when they perform a similar search in your catalog.
JSON: This feature provides you with the data from the test search in a new tab.
Multiple Test Tool: Here you can run multiple test searches using the same three elements: call number, location, and library.
Here you can view the locations assigned to the ranges on the Dashboard. Your data cannot be modified on this page, but you can see all locations across all libraries and floors.
Call No Type Key: Shows you the types of potential call numbers the Dashboard recognizes. Based on the data you input into the Editor/Batch Editor there will be a call number type assigned to each range (as seen below).
Total # of Locations: This is the number of total locations assigned to all ranges across all floors and all libraries.
Fix: This tool is used to fix any errors that may arise within call number data. This tool if clicked will take you to the Editor tab where you can make changes to the call number data where errors have been detected.
Translate: This tool helps to create unique phrases based on your data. Please reach out to a StackMap team member for further assistance if you have not used this tool before or if you think your collections may benefit from the use of this tool.
Here you can view any errors that have been detected. There are error "codes" that will appear which correspond to errors in the data. Once the error is determined the Fix It button will bring the Editor up to assist in fixing the error on a specific range.
1 - Empty Range: This means there is data missing from the starting, ending, or location field for a specific range.
2 - Start and End Call Number Out of Order: There is a problem with the order in which the starting and ending call numbers have been entered.
3 - Starting Call Number Overlaps with Previous Range: The starting call number from one range is being repeated or overlaps on another range.
4 - Ending Call Number Overlaps with Next Range: The ending call number from one range is being repeated or overlaps on another range.
5 - Call Numbers on Different Systems: This could mean that the starting call number is on one system i.e. Dewey while the ending call number is on another i.e. Library of Congress.
6 - Missing a Call Number: This means there is data missing from either the one of the starting or ending call numbers.
