Why Mental Health Consultants Are Collaborating with State Support Teams
OhioMHAS Whole Child Matters Ohio Department of Education (ODE) – State Support Team (SST) Expansion Project is a partnership of Ohio Department of Education & Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (OhioMHAS). Their frameworks both (1) use evidence-based interventions & practices that are developmentally appropriate, (2) promote systems that support ongoing implementation, (3) use data-driven decision making and (4) ongoing evaluation to ensure outcomes are met. This project aims to expand the capacity of ODE’s 16 State Support Teams.
OhioMHAS Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Program’s objectives are to build protective factors in young children, increase skills of caregivers and promote the competencies of early childhood providers, especially for children ages birth to six years who are at risk for abuse, neglect and poor social and emotional health.
ECMHC targets the healthy social and emotional development of all young children in Ohio to ensure they thrive and are ready for school. ECMH consultants team with professionals & caregivers to build capacity to promote social-emotional development, respond to challenging behavior & promote adult resilience & wellness.
