Meeting your Group
- Go to the ES/MS Gym at 11:45
- You will be given a Guide kit - Group Number, Group Roster, Student Learning Journals
- Hold up your Group sign number
- Check off your rostered Group members as they arrive
- Signal to Project X supervisor ( Dan, Molly, David) that your Group is all present
- Take your Group to your Group Classroom
Getting to know your Group
- Introductions
- Name tags - hand out the name card, lanyard and plastic - student write NAME and ROOM NUMBER
- Ice-breaker - dig into your bag of tricks - how can you get the students to learn the names of each other?
- Distribute Learning Journal - Group members write their name on the front
- Discuss scheduled Xperiences for Monday and Tuesday
- Discuss Xperience routine
- Students must travel with their Guide - no running ahead
- Arrive and wait to be invited into the Xperience location
- Break into smaller groups if needed
- Follow the directions of the facilitator
- Ask any Group Guide for assistance
- Complete your learning journal
- Group behaviour expectations
- Group members must come to you for permission to leave the Xperience for drink/bathroom/illness
- Group will stay together as they move between Xperience locations
- Leave the Group room by 12:15 to get to the Xperience on time
Xperiences
- Assist the students to move between Xperience locations
- Ensure your Group settles quickly and follow the directions of the Facilitator
- Ensure that students are “checked in” at the beginning of the Xperience
- Assist the Facilitator - most Xperiences will need Guides to be actively involved and assisting students - you do not have to lead the Xperience, but you will have to assist the students
- Direct your Group to complete their Learning Journal
- Ensure that all your students are accounted for before moving to the next Xperience
- Again - students must travel with their Guide - no running ahead
- The sessions times for Monday: 12:20pm 1:10pm 2:00pm
Group Dismissal
- Return to your Group Classroom after the third Xperience session
- Briefly discuss Xperiences
- Collect Learning Journals
- Give overview of next day of Xperiences
- Organise for the Group to meet in classroom after lunch on Tuesday

- Review the daily schedule
Xperiences
- Assist the students to move between Xperience locations
- Ensure your Group settles quickly and follow the directions of the Facilitator
- Ensure that students are “checked in” at the beginning of the Xperience
- Assist the Facilitator - most Xperiences will need Guides to be actively involved and assisting students - you do not have to lead the Xperience, but you will have to assist the students

- Instruct students to meet back here in their Group Classroom at 8am
