Monday
Tuesday
Guides work with class to develop and share understanding of TIME as a pre-brainstorming session of context vocabulary development, note-taking and sharing of experiences.
Wednesday
Groups return to their assigned classroom and meet their Guides.
Guides will facilitate sharing of ideas and experiences and begin brainstorming activities that lead towards generating ideas that could form an inquiry question.
Ideas are shared with other members of the class, discussed and reworded and placed on the wall using sticky notes. After a gallery walk, students reword possible ideas and then submit them as possible inquiry questions that they are interested in.
The Data Team will analyze the responses and group together similar ideas as possible topics for inquiry. The data will be reformatted as a survey so that each student can select a topic that is of interest to him/her.
Thursday
The Topic Selection survey will be sent to students via email. Students will be given some class time to complete the survey.
Survey results will be collated by the Data Team and students will be sorted according to their chosen initial inquiry topic.
Students will be placed in classroom groups and allocated to a classroom in one of the worlds. Teachers will also be matched to classrooms.
Friday
Organisation of student grouping will be completed. Divisional admin (principal/councellor) will scan the groups to approve the student combinations.
Groups will be reviewed - floor plans checked - classroom rosters created.
Students will receive confirmation of their initial inquiry group, classroom and group leaders.
Students will be informed about the schedule for Monday morning:
