Students will receive confirmation of their initial inquiry group, classroom and group facilitator.
Students will be informed about the schedule for Monday morning:
Students meet teachers in their assigned classrooms. After some ice-breakers and team building exercises, students meet the other members of the group who indicated an interest in the same inquiry topic.
Developing the question: Students will be led through prepared slideshow lessons that will help them in the process of developing the topic idea into an effective and relevant inquiry question. Based on on-going conversations and natural selection, students will rearrange their grouping to match the needs of their inquiry. Group facilitators will inform their World Leader about final changes to inquiry groups. Groups should be no larger than 4.
Review the question, continue investigation of the question, continue gathering information and developing a suitable response to share learning.
Morning - students continue with their planned inquiry. Teachers continue to monitor students and match group progress with their anticipated/planned timeline.
Afternoon - World Tour - students have the opportunity to visit other classrooms in their wold and discuss inquiry questions with other groups. This forms the preliminary conversations to guide students about sharing the story of their learning journey (rather than a focus on the final product).
Morning - Students continue on from their plan and keeping in mind the information gathered during the World Tour, students will continue to complete their inquiry. This is the review part of the inquiry cycle and students should be referring back to their question to determine that their research is in line with their question.
Afternoon - students will put together their evidence of learning with a focus on describing their learning path as well as the result of their inquiry.
Morning - World Expo - The parents and school community are invited to travel through each of the worlds to explore the learning journeys and evidence of understanding that students have prepared in response to their inquiry question.
The Worlds will be open in pairs so that student shave an opportunity to visit and view all other learning celebration sites.
