Finalsite

Introduction

Finalsite, as the School's LMS is the primary tool for class continuity. All MS & US teachers are posting all assignments to the Finalsite class calendars and use the Finalsite gradebook for posting grades and comments. Finalsite also has more features that are not widely used yet. The ones most pertinent to our virtual school planning include a dropbox to have students turn in work, online quizzes/tests, and discussion boards.

Instructions

Dropbox

A dropbox (not to be confused with the cloud storage service of the same name) allows students to submit files electronically. These files can be submitted in a variety of formats, including directly from Google Drive. For detailed instructions on how best use this resource in your class, please visit Finalsite's dropbox instructions page.

Quizzes

Quizzes are a great way to quickly assess student learning. Quizzes created in Finalsite have their grades go directly into the Gradebook! Below are links to three videos to get you started with these excellent resources:

Discussion Boards

While it is often difficult to completely replicate a real time in-class discussion, discussion boards can be an effective substitute. Students (and teacher) can post comments and respond to other members of the class. The video to the left will provide a quick introduction on how to set these up and use them. Please view our video, and also see the Discussion Board Best Practices.
