  • Pear Deck
Pear Deck Slides are very similar to a PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation. But instead of simply static, informational slides, you get to create Interactive Slides that let every student respond to your questions or prompts. When you present your Deck, students get a unique Join Code to enter your presentation right from their own devices.

  • NearPod
Create interactive lessons by importing existing lessons (pdfs, jpegs, ppts) and adding Virtual Field Trips, Collaborate boards, Quizzes, Polls, Matching Pairs activities, content from other educators and educational partners.

  • BrainPop
Animated educational videos for students - science, social studies, English, math, arts, music, health, and technology. Sign in with SSFS Google credentials to access this site.

  • FlipGrid
A social learning platform that allows educators to ask a question, then the students respond in a video. Students are then able to respond to one another, creating a “web” of discussion.

  • Epic

Learn to be a YouTube Ninja

The Google Teacher Center has this set of instructions for using YouTube. Topics include: finding good videos, creating playlists, subscribing to channels, embedding video in slides, and more!

Additional Screen-Casting Tool:

Screencastify

You can add the Screencastify plugin to your Chrome browser. This tool allows you to create instructional videos by recording your screen with audio narration (ie: tutorial, virtual lecture, feedback on work). When prompted, sign in with Google and select your SSFS email account. Videos from Screencastify autosave in your Google Drive. You can post to Finalsite from there. Students can also use Screencastify, so feel free to include it in your lesson planning. Screencastify is not needed if you already use other software (Camtasia, SnagIt, QuickTime).
