Asynchronous Tools

Definitions

Asynchronous: Means that class interactions happen via a virtual classroom without real-time interaction. Students engage in class materials and complete work at their own pace, typically within a given timeframe, using a variety of modalities to drive peer-to-peer engagement. If you’re comfortable using FinalSite, you are well on your way to supporting your classes fully online! Please visit the Finalsite page and/or the Google Classroom page to learn more about using these tools.

Screencast: A Screencast is a digital video recording of your computer screen, usually including audio narration. Screencasts are a form of instructional video and are a great way to post content in your virtual classroom. Zoom provides an easy way to make screencasts by recording your screen.
