What is School Readiness Preschool?
School Readiness is a statewide preschool program in Minnesota that focuses on teaching the necessary skills to be successful and ready to start Kindergarten. Our program consists of imaginative play, social/emotional skill building, STEM, fine and large motor skills, pre-reading and math, sensory, creative art, and music and movement. This program is 4-Star Parent Aware rated program with MN licensed teachers that incorporate state approved curriculum and assessment. The Stewartville Public Schools preschool team provides each student with a warm, welcoming environment and encourages the love of learning through play.
3 & 4 Year Old Preschool Classes:
Our focus for the three and four year old classes is to help students learn social and self-help skills, and encourage creativity through exploration and interactive play. We use 1-2-3 Learn Curriculum which is designed to promote the physical, social emotional, cognitive and language development of children. Each day includes circle time, story time, thematic stations (exploration time), play, pyramid time (social emotional learning), gym time, phonics and music & movement.
4 & 5 Year Old Preschool Classes:
Our four and five year old classes provide a developmentally appropriate school readiness preschool program focusing on academics and each child's individual needs to be "Ready to Learn" in kindergarten. The 1-2-3 Learn Curriculum provides a thematic approach to social-emotional skill building, language development, cognitive development and physical and motor development. Each day includes circle time, story time, thematic stations (exploration time), play, pyramid time (social emotional learning), gym time, phonics and music & movement.

At Stewartville Early Childhood, we offer many School Readiness Preschool classes for ages 3-5 years old. For your child to be eligible for a 3 year old class they must be 3 years old by September 1st of that school year; to register for a 4 year old class they must be 4 by September 1st. Children must be potty trained when starting preschool.
