What's New in Assistive Technology! Read & Write is now district-wide!
SSD has a district-wide universal license for Clicker software for Mac/Windows and for Clicker Writer, Clicker Books, and Clicker Talk Apps for iPad/Chromebook. All SSD staff and students may access these tools to support student participation, engagement, and learning.
Clicker Books empowers students of all abilities to read more independently. Students can access a large number of pre-made books on curricular and leisure topics through the Learning Grids. As an instructor, you can use Clicker Books to create and deliver adapted books with content catered to your students' unique learning needs and interests. With support from word banks, word prediction, and picture banks, students can create their own books.
Clicker Writer is comprised of three engaging apps (Clicker Sentences, Clicker Connect, and Word Banks) that target literacy skills for learners of all abilities and access methods. Clicker Writer's realistic speech feedback function allows your students to listen back to what they've written. The predictor feature offers vocabulary suggestions to improve writing fluency and provide spelling support.
Clicker Talk gives students the opportunity to explore new vocabulary, demonstrate their knowledge, and rehearse their ideas for writing. Students are given an alternative way to demonstrate their knowledge by orally recording their understanding about individual photos and/or tell a story through a sequence of photos.
Access the ever-growing library of pre-made, curricular-based and topic specific Clicker activity sets created by the Crick curriculum team. You may want to explore this customizable resource bank prior to creating an activity set from scratch. Available in all Clicker Apps and software.
