What's New in Assistive Technology! Read & Write is now district-wide!
Clicker is an engaging and comprehensive tool that offers differentiated supports to target literacy skills for learners of all abilities and access methods (e.g. switch access, direct select, eye gaze). Clicker's built-in speech and picture supports, accessible features, and customization options promote student independence and confidence in writing and other literacy activities.
Clicker includes an accessible and student-friendly word processor and 8 different activity “sets” offering varying types and levels of literacy support. Clicker grids within the activities give learners point-and-click access to whole words, phrases, and pictures, providing support at all writing levels. Install Clicker on your computers, and access Clicker Writer, Clicker Talk, and Clicker Books on your students' iPads and Chromebooks.
SSD has a district-wide universal license for Clicker for Mac/Windows and for Clicker Apps for iPad and Chromebooks including Clicker Writer, Clicker Books, and Clicker Talk. All SSD staff and students may access these tools to support student participation, engagement, and learning. As an IEP team, you may add these AT supports to any partner district student device without an AT consultation or FRF if the team determines the student may improve his/her academic performance and increase engagement and participation.
