Hello wonderful Year 2! Welcome to your Learning @ Home page for this Wednesday!
All the activities we would like you to complete today are below. Try and finish them all - we want to be getting our brains ready to come back to school soon!
Don't forget to spend some time at the beginning of the day in God's Word! To help with this, here is our Bible verse of the week:
"If you honestly say, "Jesus is Lord," and if you believe with all your heart that God raised Him from death, you will be saved."
Romans 10:9
We're almost halfway through the week! Don't forget to be exercising and eating well! ⛹️♂️ 🤸♂️
Go to Seesaw and move your star ⭐️ for morning roll call.
Remember to upload one piece of work to Seesaw.
We have a new memory verse for this term! Check out the PowerPoint and start challenging yourself to remember this wonderful verse!
Extension: See if you can write down the memory verse in your own words - how would you explain it to someone who asked you what it means?
Print this sheet, find it in your booklet or use your own paper for writing phonograms, spelling words and sentences.
Follow Mr Charleston and practice your sounds for Week 2.
Write your 10 phonograms. Use a lead pencil before checking them at the end with a coloured pencil.
The LAST CLUE for the mystery word of the week will be revealed today...are you able to guess it yet???
Follow Mrs Carter as she shares our Spelling words for the week. Remember you can pause the video if you need to.
Say the words, make them on your fingers, then write them on your Spelling sheet in your work booklets. Use a lead pencil before checking them at the end with a coloured pencil.
Choose ONE of the reading passages below that you can read without making too many errors.
The level they are indicates the difficulty - Level 1 is less challenging while Level 3 is the most challenging.
Set a timer for 1 minute and see how much of the passage you can read out loud. When the timer goes off, circle the word where you got up to. Repeat this 2 more times and see if you can beat your previous word.
IMPORTANT: DON'T RUSH - if you take your time when you read, you will actually end up reading more than you would if you rushed!
Remember to JUST CHOOSE ONE reading passage - when you've finished, make a video of yourself reading and upload it to Seesaw so your teachers can hear you read.
🍱 Write a sentence that tells us your opinion of the best food to eat for dinner.
🥗 Next write 3 full sentences giving reasons.
🍽 Write a concluding sentence: "I believe the best food for dinner is ___________ "
Imagine you are writing this for your parents to read.
Put all of your ideas together and write a few paragraphs stating your idea for the best dinner and give reasons.
