Strings

String Orchestra is open to students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades.  

Diablo Vista is fortunate enough to have a Cadet Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, and Symphonic Orchestra. Most 6th grade students will be placed into the Cadet Orchestra unless they audition for a high orchestra. Mr. Loomer will place students into either Concert Orchestra or Symphonic Orchestra for those who pass a successful audition.

All students perform in multiple concerts during the school year and 7th and 8th grade students have the opportunity to attend a competition at Great America in the Spring Semester. 8th grade students have the opportunity to attend an educational field trip to Disneyland (as long as they had been in orchestra for 7th and 8th grade)!

Our string orchestra teaches, violin, viola, cello and double bass.  Even if you do not already know how to play a string instrument, there is a place for you in our orchestra class!
