- The artist inspiration for this project is America artist Georgia O’Keeffe.
- She was known as the “Mother “ of American Modernism
- Modernists combined both abstract design and realism in art.
- She was the first woman artist to have a solo show at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, 1946.
- She used color and shape and scale in unexpected ways.

Sketching the Bridge

- The Golden Gate Bridge is an engineering marvel.
It’s a suspension bridge. The main cables suspend --hold up, the deck or roadway. The steel cables are strong but flexible in the windy conditions near the bay.
- The color is called International Orange. It’s a color used in the aerospace industry.

-Art Deco comes from the French phrase “Art Decoratif”
- Besides architecture, ART DECO style can be found in other areas, such has furniture, jewelry, and automobiles.
- Remarkable geometric shapes are one of the most noteworthy aspects of ART DECO style.
- If you look closely you’ll notice the geometric chevron shapes on the Towers.

Cats by Laurel Burch

-Laurel Burch was a local American artist with a studio in Sausalito.
-She loved painting "fantastic felines" and animals filled with interesting patterns and bright colors.

-Why did she love to paint cats?
She had a health condition, which prevented her from being as active as other children, and she found comfort in being home with her pet cats.
-Cats and animals became her painting inspiration.
-What inspires your art?
-The meaning of her work was largely to share nature's beauty, bringing together different cultures to talk about the communication with the Earth and all living creatures.
