Water that resides below saturated zones under the land surface is referred to as groundwater. Natural flowing or pumping can be used to extract groundwater, comparable to the use of hydraulic ram pumps or “puso”. Water pumps are basic mechanisms that pull water up from a well underground using a series of valves and levers, due to its simple accessibility, groundwater has been used for many years. A total of 121 households in Sitio, Cabcab, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental utilize hydraulic ram pump and flowing water as their main source of drinking water. The two HRP’s and one flowing water are chosen to examine the water quality through physicochemical properties and the examination of bacterial content through Microbiology properties particularly total coliform count and E. coli. Potability test will be checked through the standard values anchored from the DOH’s Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water. The study shows the results of the Physicochemical properties were qualified and met the DOH’s standards for water quality for the three samples. The results of microbiological unveil that sources; Flowing water and HRP 1 are positive in total coliform and E.coli, resulting failure in conformance to PNSDW. HRP 2 is the only source that negated the parameters and passed the conformance to PNSDW. The study’s recommendations include Salmonella and Amoeba Test for microbiological property in broader results to determine bacterial content. Suggestions; includes the location of each household’s septic tank near the sampling area; this will highlight any linkages to hydraulic ram pumps and flowing water.
