It was a long, hot day and we are very proud of your efforts. The next regatta will be Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th at Misverstand.

The indoor hockey team represented Springfield in the annual PSI cup tournament on Sunday the 13th of October. The girls won all their games, scoring 36 goals in total and only conceding 3, winning the tournament overall. This set the tone for what looks like a promising season ahead. Special mention to Emma Hall, who was awarded player of the tournament.
Sarah Tilney & Georgia Bergh
Tennis
Five of our six teams played last week, and we came away with 3 wins. We had several injuries to deal with and so several girls needed to play above their usual position. On Tuesday we had three teams playing. The 3rd team played against Rustenburg and played well to win. The doubles match played by Ruby Brosens and Emma Lascaris was particularly entertaining. The 5th team beat Westerford at home while the 4ths were beaten by Westerford away. On Friday, the 2nd Team lost against St Cyprians, but played some good rallies and the afternoon was enjoyed by all. Ali Cotterell deserves special mention for her determined play. The 1st team, consisting of Sarah Tilney, Georgia Bergh, Morgan and Tatum Naidoo, played against Herschel B at home. The result was split 3 - 3 at the end, and so the A and B couple game wins the fixture. That meant that we took the points thanks to an outstanding doubles match from Sarah and Georgia. Both their singles matches were also fantastic to watch.
Swimming
Well done to our swimming team that took part in a gala that took place at Rondebosch last week Thursday. We did exceptionally well in our first gala of the season and can only improve from here on. Congratulations to Holly Cleworth, Mikeaela Bristow and the under 19 medley team who all came first in their races. It was a fun and exciting afternoon and we are looking forward to the season ahead. A big thanks to all the teachers and girls that came to support especially the Spirit portfolio.
Life saving
