Where is baseball heading? - WIN Reality VR Baseball (Website)

Each year at the American Baseball Coaches' Association Annual Convention, attending coaches have the opportunity to wander the floor of the largest baseball trade show in North America. There's any number of baseball companies selling their wares, negotiating contracts and purchase orders, and showcasing their services. The typical baseball companies usually take up a large swath of floor space: Rawlings, New Balance, Bownet, HitTrax, and more. There are many lesser known companies, like local or smaller baseball bat producers and others. Finally, there are often new and upcoming technologies available on the show floor too. One company that stuck out to me at ABCA 2020 was WIN Reality VR Baseball.

WIN Reality is a powerful virtual reality baseball system designed with high performance training in mind. They want to leverage the power of modern personal computers to further the development of baseball players, especially at times when teams cannot meet in-person (such as mandatory non-contact times in collegiate athletics or while athletes are in between contracts at the professional level). Athletes put on a VR headset, are given a baseball bat with a controller attachment, and can jump in and take hacks to their liking. The system can be programmed to throw any kind of pitch, in any sequence, and at any velocity, providing a versatile training tool that can be used at any time. Just watch out for furniture and televisions wherever you're swinging your bat.
