April 24 Update

Baseball Canada Instructional Videos - Baseball Canada YouTube

Although Wednesday's blog post focused on USA Baseball, Baseball Canada has been much further ahead in terms of regulating baseball at a national level and providing a robust development certification program for our coaches. For reference, Baseball Canada's current LTAD guidelines were created about 15 years ago and are currently undergoing a major revamp (and transitioning to a Long Term Development model). Other sustained efforts from Baseball Canada include their instructional videos, which drill down to a particular topic and provide a live demonstration on how to complete a related drill or modify coaching practices to include it in coaches' repertoires. Their YouTube playlist listing is the easiest way to access their videos as each are duplicated to provide instruction in French and English.

Baseball Canada has also continued with their Monday Hot Stove series. Their April 6 session, with Kai Correa of the San Francisco Giants, and their April 13 session, with Jerry Weinstein of the Colorado Rockies, are available below. Their April 20 session, with Ryan Harrison should be available soon. These sessions are hosted live on Monday nights, but are capped at 100 participants. Coaches can register for the Hot Stove sessions through the Clinics page on the NCCP website.

Jake Stone - Simple Sabermetrics - YouTube & Twitter (@SimpleSaberBSB)

Simple Sabermetrics is a great resource for understanding analytics-driven baseball that is permeating the game today. Their YouTube channel is dedicated to providing engaging and digestible videos about (at times) really complex concepts in the baseball development world. These include W.A.R., pitch design, and current technologies in baseball.
