April 20 Update

Dr. Joe Eisenmann - Long Term Athlete Development (@Joe_Eisenmann on Twitter)

Dr. Eisenmann is an expert in pediatric sports medicine and Long Term Athlete Development. Over the last several weeks, he has been hosting #LTADchat on Twitter, moderating a continuous dialogue on practices that fall within the scope of appropriate LTAD. On Saturday, April 25, he will be facilitating a Q&A session with prominent female youth coaches on the topic of coaching female athletes. He's also posted a schedule for upcoming sessions. I can assure you that these talks will be filled with useful and practical information, not just fluff. Part of his directive is to provide coaches with a skill set that they can apply with their youth athletes. Check it out! I'll have more to come on Long Term Athlete Development next week!

Trevor Bauer - Momentum (YouTube/Website)

Trevor Bauer, a pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds, co-created Momentum as a platform to showcase the stories of athletes and provide fans with a look behind-the-scenes at the lives of the players we revere and others within baseball. Bauer is an outspoken critic of the MLB and Rob Manfred, especially in terms of modernizing the game, connecting with fans, and building the game of baseball in the 21st century. Momentum has some tremendous shows including Bauer Bytes, where Bauer interviews friends and teammates over dinner, Mic'd Up, Behind the Seams, and other mini-documentaries, such as The Sandlot Game, above. Momentum has built up quite an extensive catalog of videos, all available through their website and YouTube channel.
