An average of 30 students are arriving late each day, and late arrivals are very disruptive to the start of the school day and can affect both individual learning and the classroom routine.
Please remember that:
School gates open at 8:30am.
The first bell rings at 8:40am.
Teachers collect students from their class lines at 8:45am to begin learning.
From now on, the school gates will be locked at 8:50am sharp.
Students arriving after this time must enter through the front office and sign in using the iPads or QR code provided.
We understand that morning traffic can be busy, so please allow yourself enough time to navigate traffic and arrive before the bell.
Your support in ensuring students arrive on time each morning helps all children begin the day calmly, focused, and ready to learn. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
At St Peter’s, the safety and wellbeing of our students is always our highest priority. We are fortunate to have a caring community that values the safety of every child, and we ask for your continued cooperation in ensuring safe practices around our school grounds, especially during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.
Recently, several safety concerns have been brought to our attention:
Disability Parking Bays: Please do not park in the carparks reserved for people with disabilities on either Bellarine Avenue or Parkside Avenue, unless you hold a valid permit. These spaces must remain available at all times for families who require them.
Keep Clear Zone on Bellarine Avenue: A reminder not to stop or wait in the “Keep Clear” zone. We have asked the council to repaint the road signage to make this area more visible.
Stopping Near the Crossing: It is unsafe to stop on either side of the road too close to the pedestrian crossing to drop children off. This restricts visibility for children and drivers. Please use the pink drop off zones.
Crossing Safely: Parents and children must use the designated Bellarine Avenue or Parkside Avenue crossings when crossing the road. Please note that the corner of Bellarine & Parkside where the new footpath slopes is not a crossing. Please model safe behaviour for our students by always using the crossing.
Before-School Supervision: Children are being left unsupervised outside the school gates or at the playground across Parkside Avenue before 8:30 am. This is not safe.
School gates open, and staff supervision begins at 8:30 am.
For families who need to drop children earlier, CommunityOSH is available and provides safe, supervised care before school.
After-School Supervision: Please remember to collect your children promptly at 3:15 pm and ensure you exit the school grounds by 3:30 pm.
Children are not to play on the playground or climbing equipment after school, as staff supervision ends once the bell rings and students are dismissed.
We understand that mornings and afternoons can be busy and parking can be challenging, but every decision we make at drop-off and pick-up time contributes to the overall safety of our students and community.
Please ensure you observe the timeframes and road rules outlined above. By working together, we can help keep all children safe and model the responsible behaviours we wish them to learn.
NForma is now being used for signing parents and students in and out at the front office as well as absentee notices. The system connects directly to our class rolls, ensuring real-time updates when your child arrives late or leaves early and will also minimise human error of messages notifying you that your child is absent without notice.
Please note that as part of our transition away from Operoo, all absentee notes must also be submitted via NForma. Absentee notices sent via Operoo will not be recieved.
At this stage, we conitnue to use Operoo for sending parent notices and accessing medical info/first aid. However, with the closure of the Australian Operoo at the ende of 2025, we will be transitioning fully to NForma by Term 1 2026 for:
Medical information
Newsletter access
Permission forms
Absentee notices (already accessed through NForma)
School reports (already accessed through NForma)
This change will reduce the number of apps parents need to manage, as NForma will replace most platforms currently in use.
What this means for you:
All parents already have a NForma account, used to access school reports. If you have lost your account details or are having trouble logging in, please email reception@spkeiloreast.catholic.edu.au.
Please use NForma to log absences and late arrivals now.
To do this, log into your account, click your child’s profile, and use the "Absent" section.
Later in Term 4, we will ask all families to update their child’s medical information in NForma, in preparation for 2026.
Thank you for your support as we streamline our communication and administration systems.
We’re so looking forward to celebrating together at our 2025 Christmas Carols! This special event is a chance for our community to come together in faith and joy, reflecting on and celebrating the birth of Jesus through music and prayer.
Community Dinner/Picnic: 5:00pm – 6:30pm
Carols Performance: 6:30pm – 8:00pm
To help make this a truly memorable evening, we’re seeking volunteers. Many families attended our recent Volunteer Meeting to share ideas on how we can all play a part in ensuring the night runs smoothly and joyfully. We understand that volunteering can be tricky with children present, so we encourage families to support one another - an promise that parents will not be rostered on while their children are performing!
We’ve already had a wonderful response to our fundraising efforts — thank you! Funds raised through food and raffle sales go directly towards covering the running costs of the evening (staging, lighting, and sound), and your support is vital in helping bring this event to life.
All donors will receive:
⭐ Acknowledgment in the school newsletter
⭐ Verbal thanks and logo display on the night
⭐ An Instagram shout-out
If you or someone you know can assist through donations, please contact Steph at swood@spkeiloreast.catholic.edu.au.
We are so grateful for the generosity and community spirit of our families. Together, we can create a beautiful night of song, faith, and celebration for everyone to enjoy.
This year, our school will be scaling down the swimming program to ensure we make the best use of the government funding provided. Students in Grades 3–6 will participate in a four-day program at the East Keilor Leisure Centre, with a strong focus on building water safety knowledge and skills. As part of this program, students will be working towards their Victorian Water Safety Certificate, with Grade 6 students receiving their official accreditation upon completion.
For our Prep–Grade 2 students, the program will look a little different. They will complete a series of theory-based lessons in the classroom that focus on the important aspects of water safety, helping them to build awareness and understanding before beginning more practical swimming instruction in future years.
We believe this approach will allow all students to gain valuable knowledge and skills around staying safe in and around the water.
As the weather warms up, we’d like to remind all families about the correct summer uniform requirements to ensure consistency and safety for all students:
Uniform: Please ensure your child is wearing the full, correct summer uniform each day.
Hat: A school hat is required for all outdoor activities. No hat = no play.
Socks and Shoes: White stripe socks for girls and grey stripe socks for boys and black school shoes must be worn.
Jewellery: For safety reasons, jewellery should be limited to small, plain studs or sleepers and a (non-smart) watch only.
Nails: Nails must be kept short and natural (no polish) to support safe participation in sport and physical activity.
Hair: Hair longer than shoulder length should be tied back.
We appreciate your support in maintaining our uniform standards and ensuring student safety and wellbeing.
Grades 3-6 will be involved in the St Peter's Athletics Day to be held on the 7th of November at Moonee Valley Athletics Track (please note the change of venue).
Children will participate in various events across the course of the day, including sprints, hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put and discus. Students are encouraged to wear a hat, socks, head band or ribbons to support their house on the day. Full sport uniform must still be worn.
Prep to Grade 2 Tabloid Sports Event will be held on Thursday 6th on the oval. It is a fun and engaging morning for all students promoting teamwork, participation and enjoyment in a safe and supportive environment. Students will participate in a range of skill-based and team activities including;
Blow-up agility races
Long jump
Sack races
Inflatable zorb races
Archery target
Giant inflatable basketball
Parachute games
Shotput
Vortex javelin
All activities will be facilitated and supervised by Proactivity staff along with St Peter’s teachers. Students are encouraged to wear a hat, socks, headband or ribbons to support their house on the day. Full sport uniform must still be worn (Students who are unsure of their house colour will be informed in the coming weeks).

If your family is planning to leave our school at the end of this year or next, please let us know as soon as possible. Accurate student numbers are essential for staffing, class planning, and resource allocation — and we also have many families on our waiting list hoping to join our school community.
Thank you for keeping us informed and helping with our planning for the year ahead.
Thank you for your school fee payments to date. School fees must be paid in full no later than the 30th November 2025. If you have any queries or concerns please contact Anna Will on 03 9337 4111 or awill@spkeiloreast.catholic.edu.au.
At St Peter's, we value strong partnerships and open, respectful communication between families and staff. To help keep our interactions positive and productive, please remember the following key points of our communication guidelines:
Email is effective for sharing information, asking questions, or scheduling. However, sensitive issues, concerns, or personal matters are better handled via phone call or in-person meeting.
If you need to meet with a teacher or staff member, please arrange this in advance via email — unscheduled meetings can’t usually be accommodated.
Before sending an email or meeting in person, pause to ensure your message is respectful, calm, and focused on solutions.
When raising concerns, your child’s classroom teacher should be your first point of contact.
Staff will respond to emails during their working hours. Emails received outside those hours will usually be answered within 48 hours (unless urgent).
Please avoid naming children other than your own in emails, to protect everyone’s privacy and dignity.
For full details of our Communication Guidelines and Protocols, please see the full policy here: https://www.spkeiloreast.catholic.edu.au/for-parents/communication/
A huge thank you to Andrew Lai (Father of Ben) for his wonderful work coordinating our Scholastic Book Club! Thanks to his efforts — and your fantastic support — our school has become one of the top schools for book sales. Every purchase earns us valuable reward points, which we use to order new books for our library and classrooms, helping to grow our students’ love of reading.
We’re also excited to announce that Lizzie Pawley will be taking over the coordination of Book Club for 2026. Thank you, Lizzie, for stepping into this role — we look forward to another great year of reading adventures!
For the past few weeks, six students have been engaging in a club called 'Book Break' which encourages students to come for half a break to participate in literature activities.
The students have interviewed the supervisor, Miss Katrina and she has said that its been so wonderfull to have so many passionate readers come and partaicapate, that book break has been a great succsess so far and we are looking forward to having more boys and girls come forward on breaks!
