This term, we are trialling a new system for minor head bumps at school.
For minor bumps, you will receive an Operoo email confirming your child has been assessed and is stable. Please acknowledge the notice within 20 minutes. If not, we will follow up with a phone call.
Urgent or more serious head bumps will always be communicated directly by phone.
This system helps us keep you informed promptly while managing first aid efficiently during busy breaks. Thank you for your support.
Nurse Leila
At St Peter's Primary School we are committed to keeping our school community safe and healthy. We want to update families on current health concerns and important allergy/anaphylaxis reminders. Current Illnesses;
Influenza A and B
Flu season is upon us, and we are seeing an increase in cases of Influenza A and B among students. These highly contagious viruses can cause symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough, body aches, fatigue, and sometimes vomiting or diarrhoea. To help reduce the spread, please encourage your child to wash their hands frequently and stay home if they are unwell.
Head Lice
Head lice continue to be a common issue in schools. If your child has an itchy or irritated scalp, please check their hair for lice or nits. If you find any, treat promptly and inform the school. We recommend that all families check their children's hair regularly to help prevent the spread.
Gastro/Stomach bugs
Gastro can spread quickly in schools. If your child develops symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, or fever, please keep them at home until at least 48 hours after their last episode. This helps reduce the spread to other students and staff. We encourage all families to remind children about good hand hygiene.
