Fr Trevor writes:

After some wide discussion and planning, I am very pleased to announce that we will be able to return to some Sunday public Mass from Sunday 6th September 2020.

During August:

I am taking some annual leave / planning on a retreat at a monastery during parts of August - so during August we will offer:

a. live-streamed masses from Staplefield as we have been doing to date on weekdays at 09.30 and 1st Mass of Sunday on Saturday at 5pm. These Masses can be viewed through our parish Facebook page – www.facebook.com/St.Pauls.RH16/

b. Sunday 16th August at 10.30am (Feast of the Assumption)  - Online broadcast of Sung Mass from St Paul's

There will also be public Masses at St Wilfrid's, Burgess Hill and St Edward's, Keymer details of these are at www.stwilfridsbh.com . Fr Rick has indicated that there is some additional capacity for attendance at these (around 20 more people) and parishioners from St Paul’s are very welcome to attend.

During September:

Public Weekday Masses at 09.30am on Tuesdays and Fridays will resume on Tuesday 1st September at 09.30am

From Sunday 6th September, Public Sunday Mass at St Paul’s at 10.30 am (this will also be live-streamed) and 5pm.  We are unable to offer Mass at 08.30 at this time because of the guidance on cleaning / disinfecting the church in-between use.

There are, of course, regulations and restrictions that go with this:

Mass will be shorter and with no communal singing

Parishioners will need to wear face masks unless in a group exempted from this by current government guidance

Parishioners will need to use hand sanitiser on entering the church and respect social distancing rules

We will be asking you to let us know if you are intending to attend Mass via an online ‘sign up’ form. More details of this will be given later in August.  This will include contact details for ‘track and trace’ purposes.  This will enable us to monitor and control numbers at Mass on Sundays given the social distancing guidance.

Our Lady of Fatima, Staplefield:

Fr Vlad and Tamara will continue to self-isolate for the indefinite future.  Staplefield will, therefore, remain closed as a public Mass centre.

Your help is needed

Cleaning:

The church needs to be cleaned / disinfected in-between each use. As we begin to open up what we can do further we urgently need your support in cleaning the church.

If you can spare time on Tuesday and Friday mornings from

10.15am (after Mass), please contact Shirley - she will explain how

and when you will be required.    shirleyjames101@btinternet.com or 01444 451603.

Stewards:

We will also need stewards at our Sunday Masses. More details on how to volunteer for this will be given later in August.

with my love and prayers,

Fr Trevor
