SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Leadership for a sustainable future
Skandinavisk beskrivelse:
TBA
English description:
In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals. It's now six years on, and we have more work than ever to do. These goals have the power to create a better world by 2030, by ending poverty, fighting inequality and addressing the urgency of climate change. Guided by the goals, it is now up to all of us, to work together to build a better future for everyone.
It can seem like a very large task, but together we can come up with solutions on how to improve our organizations in being more sustainable, both socially and environmentally. During this workshop we will also present some concrete tools and methods in how to lead our scouts through this change.

How does our future look like
Skandinavisk beskrivelse:
TBA
English description:
Come to discuss about forests and sustainable future! What do the forests mean to us or the society? How is our future?
The Guides and Scouts of Finland have the partnership with global forest industry company UPM. Partnership aims to more dialogue between the youth, corporations and decision-makers especially about climate change and responsibility. In Finland we have series of dialogues because guides and scouts and UPM would like to hear different views of young people, learn and participate this subject. Our aim is to create peaceful forum to different opinions about forests.
In NSK we would like to hear nordic views, learn more and introduce Finnish Timeout-method. The dialogue will be facilitated by Timeout-Foundation and one representative from UPM will attend to the discussion. Timeout is a new way to generate and have constructive discussions. It's a method for people from different backgrounds.

The Sustainable Development Goals have been at the forefront globally for the past couple of years. The Goals have been adopted by many different scout groups all over the world who have worked with the goals in creative ways. The Icelandic Scout Association is one of those groups and for the past two years the SDG's have played a crucial role in our events, planning and weekly program for younger scouts. This workshop includes a short introduction of the ways Icelandic Scouts have promoted the SDG's within scouting as well as a discussion where participants are invited to share their ideas and best practices regarding the SDG's.
