SPRINGFIELD PLATTEVIEW COMMUNITY SCHOOLS 24-25
Dear Springfield Platteview Families,
As we move through the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements and exciting developments happening across our district. Our students and staff continue to impress with their dedication, talent, and hard work.
Recently, we celebrated our NSESA Esports State Champions, recognizing their skill and teamwork at our latest Board of Education meeting. We also extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Heneger for nearly a decade of leadership at Springfield Elementary. As we begin the search for a new principal, we are committed to finding the best candidate to continue building on our successes.
In addition, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new district website, designed to provide a more user-friendly experience for our families. Stay tuned as we update our school sites to match this streamlined design.
Looking ahead, there are many exciting events on the horizon, including our district-wide Art Show on March 7 and the 2025 KidsCare Summer Program, which promises a season filled with fun, learning, and adventure. Enrollment opens soon, so be sure to mark your calendars!
We also recently celebrated National School Counselors Week, recognizing the invaluable support our counselors provide to students each day. And as we navigate Nebraska’s unpredictable winter, don’t forget to check our Inclement Weather Updates page for the latest announcements.
Finally, I want to take a moment to wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day! 💕 May your day be filled with kindness, appreciation, and time spent with those who mean the most to you.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our schools. I am proud of what we are accomplishing together and excited for all that’s still to come.
Warm Regards,
Ryan Saunders, Ed.D.

Elic Chisam, Custodian, Platteview High School
We are thrilled to announce that Elic Chisam, PHS Custodian, has been named the SPCS Good Vibes Employee of the Month! Congratulations, Elic!
One person shared... "Elic consistently goes above and beyond—not only covering shifts and picking up extra hours on weekends but also stepping up to help with tasks outside of his job description. He truly goes the extra mile to keep the high school a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. His dedication and work ethic do not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for all he does!"
And --- A special thank you to our Good Vibes Community Sponsor, Rick Havenridge, for his generous support of the Employee of the Month program. Your contribution makes a meaningful difference, and we appreciate you being there to celebrate with us!
At our last Board of Education meeting, we proudly recognized our NSESA Esports State Champions for their incredible skill, dedication, and teamwork. This outstanding achievement is a testament to their hard work and perseverance, and we are honored to celebrate their success!

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing school counselors for their dedication, compassion, and hard work. Your support shapes the lives of our students every day. We appreciate you!
Regular school attendance is crucial for student success, and it's part of a nationwide campaign to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive. Missing school, even for a day or two, can have a significant impact on learning and academic progress. We encourage families to prioritize consistent attendance and remind students that every day counts. If your child is facing challenges that affect their attendance, please reach out to us—we’re here to help. Together, we can support our students and keep them on the path to success!
We’re excited to re-introduce our campaign to showcase the expansive reach of Springfield Platteview Community Schools! This campaign highlights our district’s impressive size and can be followed with the hashtag #SPCSGoesFar. Covering approximately 90 square miles, SPCS serves a diverse community from areas near Highway 75 to almost 204th Street (Hwy 6) and even north of Highway 370. Simply put, Springfield Platteview School District truly goes far! Stay tuned and join us in celebrating our wide-reaching community!
