SPRINGFIELD PLATTEVIEW COMMUNITY SCHOOLS - DISTRICT NEWSLETTER
Dear Springfield Platteview Families,
With only 15 school days left in the school year (for non-seniors), I want to take a moment to reflect, celebrate, and thank you all for the incredible journey we’ve shared during the 2024–2025 school year.
This has been a year of progress, partnership, and possibility. Our students thrived—in classrooms, on stage, in competitions, and through community service. These successes are a direct reflection of the dedication of our staff and the unwavering support from our families.
As we enter the final stretch, here are a few reminders to help everyone finish the year strong:
Encourage consistent attendance – Every day counts in helping students stay on track.
Stay engaged – Support students with routines, reading, and end-of-year assignments.
Celebrate growth – Reflect on how much your child has learned and achieved.
Reach out – Our teachers and staff are here to support any needs as the year wraps up.
To our incredible educators and staff—thank you for your heart, hard work, and tireless commitment to our students. To our families—thank you for being true partners in learning and growth.
We’ll miss seeing our students over the summer, but we hope it’s a time for rest, reflection, and joy for all. Thank you for making this school year a meaningful and successful one. We can’t wait to see what next year brings!
Please take a moment to review the update below about our 2025 Employee Awards & Recognition Banquet. We are fortunate to have so many outstanding individuals in our community.
With deep gratitude,
Ryan Saunders, Ed.D.
Superintendent
Springfield Platteview Community Schools
At our annual employee awards banquet last week, we had the privilege of recognizing many outstanding individuals and celebrating their valuable contributions to our schools and community. We also honored this year’s retirees, applauding their years of dedicated service. As part of the evening, we presented three major annual awards, along with several other special recognition honors.

This day is a special reminder to take a moment and thank the educational leaders who guide and support our schools every day. We've been emphasizing it all year: school attendance matters!
Consistent attendance is key to student success and is part of a nationwide effort to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive. Missing even a day or two of school can have a lasting impact on learning and academic progress.
We encourage all families to make attendance a priority and remind students that every day counts. If your child is facing challenges that affect their ability to attend school, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are here to support you and help overcome any obstacles.
Together, we can keep our students on the path to success. Best of luck as we approach the final stretch of the school year!
Our district covers approximately 90 square miles. SPCS serves a diverse community—stretching from areas near Highway 75, reaching nearly to 204th Street (Highway 6), and extending even north of Highway 370. Simply put, the Springfield Platteview School District truly goes far!
