Darrius plans to dive deep into the art of storytelling through movement. Known for using dance as a common language that transcends cultural, racial, and gender barriers, his work invites viewers to engage with the human experience in its rawest form. The piece will be broken into distinct, gritty sections, each highlighting the power of the human body to communicate emotions and narratives. Lighting plays a critical role in this production, acting as an extension of the movement, enhancing the storytelling and creating an immersive experience. The goal of the piece extends beyond performance—it's about leaving a lasting impact. Darrius hopes to inspire not only the dancers but also the audience, encouraging aspiring dance makers to embrace their authenticity and craft their own stories through the lens of movement.
