This year, our Technology and Engineering State Standard are enduring change and becoming more established with/working along side of the Science standards for the state of Pennsylvania. Our department has been working with our curriculum team and Rob Freil to include the new standards into our curriculum and utilize them within Eduplanet21. Our department is also planning on taking part in a Summer Workshop directed by Bryan Tayman, which covers STEELS and the integration of the new standards within our curricular areas.
So far in the past 3 years, our Tech Ed Department (Middle and High School) has been meeting to vertically align our curriculums, with the assistance of our District Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, Rob Freil. This year, our individual tasks were to work through all the stages within Eduplanet21 and develop a unit that we are implementing within Eduplanet21 itself. This unit of instruction was then taken to our school board for approval. I was able to develop and vertically align my 7th grade unit "Simple Machines" into Eduplanet21. I have been also working on my 6th and 8th grade units developed and written within Eduplanet21 this year as well.
