An article is meant to inform or to entertain. The main contents of an article are found within the text people read. There, all necessary information is given. It has been stated that articles with images have 94% more views than articles without. It helps readers parse through an article when you break down a wall of text with an image. It gives the article more visual flare, and thus more people will be willing to finish an article. People also have short attention spans today, so adding something that can appeal someone’s eyes briefly like a picture is a good idea to get their attention.

Photos and drawings alike help us visualize the context of the article more. Some people have weak imaginations or get lost in the text and cannot visualize the whole article well. Including drawings helps us do just that. It makes us understand the context more and appreciate what the writer is trying to say. It gives a certain level of depth to the readers too because through imagery we get to show the readers the author and the artists’ perspective on the article. Drawings help elevate this because it gives the article a more personal touch that the readers would like to see.
