Hello writers, artists, and content creators! Welcome to Southville’s official school publication! As of Academic Year 2024-2025, the paper has moved to an online platform that publishes content every week for the school year. This has led the club to become more content-centered and flexible in content.
This club aims to inform its staff about the basics of content creation and journalism, as well as the empowerment of creativity within the school community. We are looking for students with initiative, imagination, and diligence who are willing to mold and amplify the voice of the student body.
In the Syllabus, you’ll find resources on writing, drawing, graphic design, leading, and more. That’s not to say that these are rules set in stone. In fact, learning is dynamic and continuous. We encourage future members to improve upon this body of work for it to continuously evolve for the betterment of future members of this club. In fact, this guidebook was written with the express intention of laying the foundations of a permanent school publication when before there was none.
The Mover aims to inform and entertain Southville’s student body with a variety of media, as well as empower students’ creativity, passions, and talents. We aim to be the voice of the students and a platform of student pride. As the school publication, The Mover also aims to educate its staff in the ways of journalism and content creation, to further add to their skillset.
Through our social media platforms and websites, The Mover is the platform of not only our staff, but the members of the school. We are fair, kind, and honest, and our content is positive and constructive to our community. Through this platform, we raise our students with pride. Through this small curriculum, we raise our staff members with information.
