AN INTERVIEW WITH TORBEN ENDRICI
Board member of the "Cantina Endrizzi"
Why did your vineyard decide to focus on caring for the soil microbiota?
We are a vineyard that constantly evaluates all aspects of our work with a 360-degree approach. Global warming presents new challenges, which is why we’ve also reassessed our agronomic practices — and one of the key parameters is the soil microbiota.
Moreover, the influence of climate change is already being felt in the vineyard, and subsequently also in the cellar, and will inevitably affect our wines and the market. Not to mention how climate will change the flavor, aroma, ripening timeline, and overall oenological profile of wines.
Rising alcohol levels don’t align with the general market demand — and Generation Z seems even more health-conscious than today’s consumers.
How do you envision your winery in 10 years, and what steps are you taking to get there?
From an agronomic perspective, we’re doing everything we can to preserve a long growing season and an optimal harvest window, so that we can produce grapes with the quality and character needed for world-class wines.
What is your idea of wine?
Wine should simply move me — it has to create emotion.
Why did you choose Resonant, and what benefits have you seen?
I saw the benefits early on through field trials. The vines gave direct feedback: denser foliage, regulated growth, greater drought resistance, and improved enological parameters.
Which Resonant product do you use and why?
We use Foundation and Strong Roots.
How have the Resonant products changed your approach in the vineyard and in the winery? What impact have they had on your wine?
We are getting very close to the vision of the future described above. We have succeeded in producing lower-alcohol wines while still achieving optimal grape ripening in a very hot vintage.
Who would you recommend Resonant products to, and why?
I would recommend these products to anyone who wants to continue producing appealing wines in the future — and have excellent support in achieving that goal.
