1 bocce pallina, 1 bocce ball, 1 measuring tape or ruler. If you don’t have these items, you may make substitutions to replicate them. Some examples for a pallina include small objects such a tennis ball, golf ball, a rolled up clean sock, water bottle or other. For the bocce ball you can use a different ball like a tennis ball, baseball, softball, or a rolled up clean sock. If you don’t have a measuring tape or ruler, you can print out a ruler HERE.
Find a safe, long, flat area in your yard or your home (if indoors, use soft equipment and stay away from fragile items). Place your pallina (target) on the ground/floor and measure 20 feet away or you can measure by take 8 large steps. Put down an object to use as a marker. From the 20-foot mark, roll your bocce ball (or substitute) as close to the pallina as possible. You will roll 8 times and measure the distance from the edge your bocce ball to the edge of the pallina after each attempt.
Take the measurements of the 3 rolls that came closest to the pallina and add them together to get your final score. Record the distance in feet and inches.

You may train with a Unified Partner and complete the events with him/ her to compete together as a Unified Pair (see the rules and registration info for who is eligible to be a Unified Partner for the Summer Games @ Home).
For Unified Pairs, you will each train and record individual scores separately at home for each of the three events above (20 Foot, 30 Foot, and 40 Foot). Scores for each participant will then be combined to a team score.
