KS3 Curriculum
At Key Stage 3, we deliver a broad range of subjects which includes our core academic subjects as well as more creative and expressive subjects. At Somervale, our KS3 curriculum emphasises enjoyment of learning as well as preparation for further study at GCSE level and beyond. This means that each student has the opportunity to develop their knowledge and interest across the full range of subjects.
The subjects covered at KS3 are:
English, Maths, Science, Spanish, History, Geography, Philosophy & Belief (including Religious Education), Art, Drama, Music, Technology, IT, PSHE and Physical Education.
KS4 Curriculum
At Key Stage 4, all students continue to study Maths, Science, English (Language and Literature) and a choice of Humanities (either History or Geography). They also continue with non-examined subjects such as Ethics (including PSHE and RE) and Core PE. They are also offered pathways which allow them to specialise in a Language and take up 2 further options from a broad range of creative, technical and academic subjects. We are incredibly proud of our broad range of qualifications as well as the strong outcomes students at Somervale achieve each year.
