The General Music course provides students with an opportunity to explore music theory, technology, and history, as well as an introduction to a variety of instruments. Ever wondered how your favorite producer makes a hit from a single sound? Or why a stadium full of people can’t help but move to the same beat? In Beat Laboratory, we’re stepping away from the textbooks and into the driver’s seat of modern music. Whether you’ve never touched an instrument or you’re already a music creator, this class is your playground.
What We’ll Master:
THE HEARTBEAT (Extreme Drumming): Forget "Mary Had a Little Lamb." We’re diving into the high-energy world of Bucket Drumming and West African Djembe. You’ll learn the "Secret Language" of rhythm, from viral TikTok patterns to the backbeats that drive rock and hip-hop.
THE STUDIO (Soundtrap Pro): Turn your laptop into a professional recording studio. You’ll use Soundtrap to chop samples, layer heavy basslines, and engineer your own tracks. By the end of the term, you won’t just be a listener—you’ll be a Digital Architect.
THE VISUALIZER (Boomwhacker Mayhem): Imagine a human piano. We use color-coded, high-impact tubes to "see" music. We’ll work as a massive ensemble to perform everything from video game soundtracks to the latest chart-toppers. It’s fast, it’s loud, and it’s pure teamwork.
