Applied Math is a course intended to complement the regular classroom math experience by pushing students beyond the curriculum and helping them develop their love for math. Students will demonstrate their learning through applications of math, real world math, and project based learning.
Have you ever wondered how an architect designs a skyscraper, how a video game
programmer calculates a character's jump, or how a chef scales a recipe for a crowd?
In Applied Math, we step out of the workbook and into the real world. This course
bridges the gap between "solving for x" and solving the problems we face every day.
Geometry and Right Angle Trigonometry
Problem Solving and Data Analysis
Probability and Statistics
Computer Science and Programming
Other Topics to be Determined
Why This Class is a Game-Changer:
Middle school is the perfect time to build "math confidence." By showing students that math
is a tool for creativity, building, and independence, we remove the "math anxiety" that
often starts at this age. Students aren't just memorizing formulas; they are learning
to think like engineers, entrepreneurs, and problem-solvers.
