Students will learn the importance of internet safety and responsibility across various platforms, appropriate and effective ways to communicate through various means including email, digital slide shows and other digital written and verbal communications. Students will also learn to use current digital platforms for internet and database research and organization.
Starting with the MBA class of 2028 (current 6th grade), this class will be required one time
over the three years of middle school.
In a world that is always "online," being tech-savvy is about more than just knowing how to use an app—it’s about being a responsible, effective, and organized digital citizen. This course is designed to empower students to use technology as a tool for success, ensuring they have the skills to navigate the web with confidence and integrity.
The Digital Footprint: Students will learn the vital importance of internet safety and
responsibility. We discuss how to protect personal information and the long-term
impact of our actions across various social and gaming platforms.
The Art of Digital Communication: Moving beyond texting! We’ll teach students how to
craft professional emails, design engaging digital slideshows, and use written and
verbal tools to communicate their ideas clearly and appropriately.
The Search Expert: Not everything on the internet is true! Students will learn how to
use professional databases and advanced search techniques to find credible
information for their school projects.
Digital Organization: From managing a cloud-based filing system (like Google Drive or OneDrive) to organizing research notes, we’ll help students build a "digital backpack" that stays tidy and efficient.
