Mr Ward joined Smithdon High School in September 2018 as Head of PE, having previously work at fellow Trust school Springwood since 2011. Mr Ward studied Sport and Exercise Science at Leeds Met University before training to become a teacher.

He is an experienced teacher of both GCSE and A Level PE and has a wide range of knowledge in practical sports, specialising in Cricket.

Mrs Hernandez joined Smithdon High School in September 2016. Before achieving her degree in Sport and Physical Education at the University of East Anglia and going on to achieve QTS in 2014, she was a qualified exercise and fitness instructor working in Kings Lynn. Mrs Hernandez has taught GCSE and BTEC PE in secondary schools and sixth forms.

She enjoys teaching a wide variety of sports and has a particular interest in the Anatomy and Physiology of the human body.

Additionally, she is involved with the Duke of Edinburgh Award as she is a qualified Assessor at Bronze and Silver level.

Ms Moat joined Smithdon High School in September 2008 as a PE teacher having previously studied a BA in Physical Education with QTS at Bedford University. She is an experienced teacher of both GCSE and A Level PE, but also teaches Health and Social Care and is coordinator of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Ms Moat has a wide range of knowledge in practical sports but specialises in Outdoor Education, hockey and football.

Mr Tilley joined the school as a trainee teacher in September 2020. He will work with the PE department for the Autumn and Summer term. Mr Tilley has a vast amount of experience in coaching a wide range of sports. He has previously worked as a LSA/Sports Coach at Whitefriars Primary School and has a degree in Sports Coaching.

Mr Tilley specialises in teaching practical sports with strengths in football and lacrosse.
