Aspiring: Opening opportunities to see the world of possibilities

Overview of the April seminar:
At 4:30 PM, those participating in the live sessions will be able to access the school locations at their chosen site and will participate in the Zoom meeting as one group using the classroom board.
At 4:55 PM, we will open a Zoom Meeting Room for new teachers for our opening session. From there, participants will enter Google Meets rooms for a discussion with facilitators.
The remainder of our time will be spent in one session hosted by content supervisors either in-person, hybrid with the live classroom, or completely virtual.
Objectives:
Participants will:
reflect on the needs of teachers and students in the classroom live and in a hybrid setting
engage in content/grade-level specific professional development session hosted by content supervisors
AGENDA:
5:00 - 5:30 PM: Opening session
5:30 - 5:55 PM: Google Meets Small Groups
6:00 - 7:00 PM: Content Supervisor Session Block
In-Person Session Options
Participants may choose to attend a live classroom session for this New Teacher Seminar at one of two centrally located school sites - Captain Walter Francis Duke Elementary and Leonardtown Middle.
The in-person sessions will offer the opportunity to meet other new teachers and participate in sessions within an active classroom with small group interaction with content supervisors.
Captain Walter Francis Duke Elementary - Content supervisors include - Primary and Intermediate Elementary, Fine Arts (Elementary and Secondary), and Early Childhood.
Leonardtown Middle - Content Supervisors include - Secondary English/Language Arts, Secondary Science, World Languages, Special Education (Elementary and Secondary), and ISI Teachers.
Virtual Only - CTE, Physical Education, Social Studies, and Secondary Mathematics (Participants may attend in-person for the 5:00 PM block at Leonardtown Middle and be provided a quiet space to login into the virtual only 6:00 PM block. Use the sign-up sheet to reserve a seat!)
Dr. Smith will share his opening remarks from one of the school sites and then travel to each of the other site during the seminar to chat with participants! Dr. Farrell, and Mrs. Bachner will also visit the school sites to speak with new teacher participants.
To respect social distancing, participants will need to sign up in advance with their selected location. Please use this SHEET.
April 7th New Teacher Seminar In-Person Schedule:
4:30 PM: Doors open for access to the school site
5:00 PM: Whole group session viewed on media center SMART Board
5:30 PM: Live Only Small Group Facilitator Group with those in the classroom
6:00 PM: Content Supervisor Session - Live/Hybrid Session presented in-person

Live Session Participants will collaborate with facilitators in the media center at their site.
