Seminars and Ongoing Professional Development

Induction is a year-long process, addressing needs for new teachers in different phases of their first year. Ongoing professional development is based on both individual and instructional needs as the year progresses. 


Monthly Seminars

Each seminar is developed with a long range plan that addresses the growth of the teacher throughout the year. Seminars include multiple models of delivery to address the variety of teacher needs.

Specific professional learning experiences are designed to address the needs of teachers based on experience and expertise:

Schedule of New Teacher Seminars

5:00-7:00 pm on the first Wednesday of each month

Sessions will be held online during virtual learning. Live sessions may begin once schools are fully opened.

Site-Based Professional Development

Job embedded and school-focused professional learning geared toward the needs of new teachers and those new to the school or program. 

Graduate Courses

Working with college and university partners, tailored programs will offer extended learning experiences that will matriculate into programs to toward certification or degrees.

Recursive Professional Learning 

Professional development is designed with a flexible framework that considers the reflections and needs of the learner. Objectives are driven by key points of feedback, reflection, and performance by the new teachers. 

Reflection-Driven Professional Development

New teachers are provided structured opportunities to reflect on specific elements of their performance and the performance of their students. This reflection feeds the design of learning throughout the year. 

Personalized Professional Development

Individuals are provided choice, while also connecting to tailored experiences to help bridge their learning. 

Online Support

A virtual community is in place to provide support and distance mentoring.
