Advancement
Advancing in the Unit...
Our Battalion advancement policy is based on demonstrated knowledge and ability, not on the position held.
Only three Unit positions have a fixed rank associated with them:
Cadet Commanding Officer (C/CDR)
Cadet Executive Officer (C/LCDR)
Cadet Operations Officer (C/LT).
All other Cadets wear the rank which they have earned through promotion.
Our Policy:
Effective August 2020, the goal of the proposed policies is to ensure we are promoting people who fully meet the requirements of their rank. It is unacceptable to have higher-ups not knowing standard knowledge.
The requirements to advance are meant to build upon each other; a cadet must still meet previous requirements while also meeting new ones. Reading through the requirements will make this clear. We wanted a policy that was clear and made it easier to advance, while also requiring the basics of good conduct.
