Each month, our school focuses on one of our CRABS Virtues to ensure that our students feel safe, are supported, are challenged, and are engaged in school.
This month, our focus is on Self-Discipline: “I can name and describe my strengths, and I can choose behaviors and mindsets that will help me succeed.”
Summer LET GROW Challenge
- Our spring community book study group learned about the Let Grow program, and we want to share it with you.
- Summer is the perfect time for kids to have new experiences and adventures, develop new skills, and build self-confidence and resilience - all while having fun!
- Let Grow's summer experience helps us support students in building childhood independence through real-life activities.
Summer Meals Registration - FREE
Register for SMCPS’s free summer meals program, starting on June 17, for youth aged 18 or younger.
Maryland SUN Bucks Application
Maryland SUN Bucks helps families with school-aged children who receive free or reduced-price meals buy groceries during the summer break when school meals are unavailable. You can apply online - click here!
Families who qualify for the Maryland SUN Bucks program will receive $40 for June, July, and August (a total of $120) for each eligible student.
If you have any questions, call 1-800-332-6347 and select the Maryland SUN Bucks option.

Tier 2 Requests for Assistance
If you have a student who is having chronic difficulties that impact learning and academics, you can refer the student to our Tier 2 team for review.
Complete a Request for Assistance (RFA) on paper or in the form.
Student data will be reviewed at our monthly Tier 2 meeting, and recommendations and/or interventions will be proposed by the team.
CPCS CARES
Our CARES program offers clothing, assistance, resources, essentials, and snack sacks for students and families in need.
We rely on the generosity of our school community, which donates needed items.
Families can request items through our CARES Request form - click here.
