"Maker" Work Continues for Cohort of Local Schools
REDWOOD CITY, CALIF. – As part of Making Spaces: Expanding Maker Education Across the Nation, a nationwide program supported by Google, Maker Ed and the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) has spent the past six months helping 10 local schools jumpstart and sustain maker education movements in their classrooms.

Two Coastside schools will be among the first in San Mateo County selected to participate in a nationwide program revolving around “maker education.” The program is supported by Google, the Maker Education Initiative and the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.
Cunha Intermediate and La Honda Elementary schools are among 11 in the county to receive guidance, professional development and support to launch maker education programs on their campuses.
