Cubelets

Cubelets

Cubelets are magnetic blocks that you can snap together to make an endless variety of robots with no programming and no wires. Cubelet-based robots can drive around on a tabletop, respond to light, sound, and temperature, and have surprisingly lifelike behavior.

Cubelet Types

There are three main types of cubelets necessary for a cubelet robot.

  1. First you need a Think block. A think block will usually be a supportive role in the robot such as supplying the power or inverting the power.

  2. Secondly you need a Sense block. A sense block, as in the name, senses environmental factors around it to create an input for the robot

  3. And Lastly you need an Act block. An act block acts as the output of the robot, it commits the action or actions needed of it controlled by the sense block and altered by the think block.

Order of Cubelets

Make sure you have your Cubelets in the correct order. Though it depends on which cubelets you're using and it can vary a lot so if nothing is happening when you turn the battery on try to mix around the order to see what works for the certain combination you're using

Falling over a lot

If you are using drive cublets and the robot you are making keeps on falling over that is usually due to it being unstable when it accelerates. two possible solutions to this is either using a green cubelet to slow down the drive cubelet or to use a green cubelet or other cubelets in a different arrangement to make it more stable

Piece not working

If a piece seems as if its not working make sure to check if you have the right order but if its still not working make sure the LED on the edge of the cubelet is on. If it isn't on then make sure either again, the order is correct or that the piece might just be faulty
