Grade 3 and Grade 6 Literacy and Mathematics
In 2021–2022, the Assessments of Reading, Writing and Mathematics, Primary Division (Grades 1–3) and Junior Division (Grades 4–6), will be online. Students will have the opportunity to become familiar with the digital assessments and their platform through EQAO’s sample online tests.
The administration window for the assessment is Wednesday, May 4, 2022, to Friday, June 24, 2022.
EQAO is responsible for:
overseeing Ontario’s provincial assessment program. EQAO’s provincial tests assess students’ literacy (reading and writing) and math skills at key points in their kindergarten to Grade 12 education.
administering the Mathematics Proficiency Test. Successful completion of the test is required for certification with the Ontario College of Teachers.
coordinating Ontario’s participation in national and international assessments, on behalf of the Government of Ontario.
The Assessment of Reading, Writing and Mathematics, Primary Division (Grades 1–3) tests the reading, writing and math skills students are expected to have learned by the end of Grade 3.
The Assessment of Reading, Writing and Mathematics, Junior Division (Grades 4–6) tests the reading, writing and math skills students are expected to have learned by the end of Grade 6.
