Psi Chi: If you aren't sure how to pronounce Psi Chi it is pronounced: "PSI" (as in psy of psychology) plus "CHI" (as in ki in kind)
All Psychology majors and students majoring in related fields are strongly encouraged to participate in Psi Chi events. The SLU Psi Chi Chapter hosts numerous events open to all undergraduate and graduate students. Students need not be members to attend most events, which include opportunities to network with other students and faculty members, as well as learn about research engagement opportunities, graduate school application procedures, various sub-disciplines in Psychology, and much more. Access their website here.
Additionally, the SLU Chapter of Psi Chi hosts the Annual Psi Chi Lecture Series, where members of the SLU community and beyond are treated to the latest research findings and scientific thinking from a prominent Psychologist.
Psi Chi is the largest student-focused International Honor Society for Psychology. It started in the late 1920's with representatives from 11 institutions. There are now over 1000 chapters worldwide and the Department of Psychology proudly hosts an active, local chapter. Eligibility criteria are posted on the organization website, but all students majoring in Psychology or closely related fields are welcome to explore membership.
