Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL): Certificate in University Teaching Skills
CTTL is located on the 2nd floor of Pius Library and is open to all interested SLU faculty, staff, and students. It offers the University Teaching Skills Program.
The purpose of the University Teaching Skills Program is to promote the development of faculty and graduate students in their journey toward transformative teaching. The requirements of the certificates in this program provide participants with pedagogical information to enhance their teaching practice, to draft and develop a philosophy of teaching, and to document teaching competencies.

Focus on Teaching and Technology Conference (FTTC): SLU Institutional Partners:
The Focus on Teaching and Technology Conference offers an ensemble of keynote addresses, faculty innovations during concurrent sessions, technology workshops, and vendor exhibits. The conference program has evolved over the years to reflect emerging trends in technology applications in higher education and developing shared expertise in online teaching experiences and strategies. Upcoming UMSL Conference is open for registration. Principles and Foundations participants can get up to two (2) elective credits for attending.
2023 Focus on Teaching and Technology Conference (up to 2 credits)
September 29th and October 6th
This is a two-day event: September 29th will feature virtual sessions and a keynote from Bridget Arend on intentional, meaningful teaching. October 6th will include in-person sessions at the UMSL campus, featuring discussions and workshops on various teaching and technology topics, such as generative AI, contemplative pedagogy, and gamification as well as an award-winning teaching panel.
Principles and Foundations Certificate participants are eligible to earn up to two (2) elective Effective Teaching Credits for attending either day of the conference.
Registration is required. Attendance will be verified by UMSL staff by either virtual attendance or in-person check-in.
