Executive Council

The roles and responsibilities of the IFSA Executive Council as outlined in the IFSA Charter are listed below:

• be responsible for general operations, development of policies and procedures, and ensuring the integrity of the Association;

• hold at least one annual business meeting of the membership as well as additional meetings upon the call of the President, or at the written request of any three members of the Association;

• ensure that a quorum of the membership is present at any meetings where business is conducted. A quorum shall consist of at least 10% of the current total membership, as long as at least three (3) members of the Executive Council are present;

• provide, by consensus, the Association’s public response to issues affecting the membership;

• establish procedures for conducting elections of the Executive Council members;

• appoint an ad hoc Nominating Committee with the responsibility to run elections;

• ensure that the Chair of each Standing Committee makes a brief verbal report of activities at Executive Council Meetings, or if unable to attend, provide the President with a brief written report prior to the meeting;

• when the Executive Council deems appropriate for the smooth functioning of the Association, recommend to members an annual fee for their approval at a membership meeting

IFSA President Emeritus 

Persons elected to this role are those who have provided significant leadership over an extended period of time and wish to continue with engagement within the IFSA community at SLU.  The role definition is as follows: The IFSA President Emeritus provides leadership and guidance to the Officers of IFSA; mentors the IFSA President in proceedings of the association; and provides a historical perspective in the decision-making process.

IFSA's Executive Council is comprised of the following members, with a term of one year:

• President-Elect

• Secretary

• Treasurer

• Appointed Chairs of the Standing Committees for

o   Membership

o   Program

o   Communication/Public Relations
