The Paul C. Reinert, S.J. Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning is Saint Louis University’s teaching center. We serve all SLU faculty members, graduate students, academic leaders, and others who design and facilitate formal learning experiences for SLU students. We provide instructional and curriculum development programs and services, for individual instructors and for academic programs and departments. Educational development is a specialized evidence-based field. For more information about the kind of work we do, find out here.

Focus on Teaching and Technology Conference (FTTC):
The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) supports faculty and graduate students through teaching observations, one-on-one consultations, new full- and part-time faculty orientations, workshops, and course design programs. The CTL is also home to the Supplemental Instruction (SI) and Active Learning Assistant (ALA) programs.
Services
Programs, forums, and virtual and in-person conferences are planned each academic year to orient full-time and part-time faculty and teaching assistants to the campus community. These programs are sponsored by the Center for Teaching in Learning in collaboration with the Offices of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, the Library, and Information Technology Services (ITS).
A goal of the CTL is to be the office contacted when faculty seek guidance in their instructional work. Consultations are available to interested faculty and graduate students regarding teaching enhancements, mid-semester and end-of-course feedback, and instructional design supports for traditional, blended, and online courses.
